Once in a while I can get Paco to engage in the toy-more so when the puppy is around as she likes to play with toys. On the building value for toys it seems once I pull out the food he really has no interest in a toy. Ideally I would like him to tug on the toy but he won’t even put his mouth on it. So I started giving him a food reward when he just sniffs it. This seems like it may take forever. I feel like a cheerleader trying to get him pumped up. The thing he is most focused on are squirrels in the yard! He likes fast moving objects. Any suggestions?

    the beginner starfish

    right turns

he does better turning left but I think I am more comfortable with that direction since I use my right hand that direction

So with the accordion game what is the final goal we are looking for? Are we wanting 1 stride jumps, progress to 2 strides; or varying between bounce and multi strides?

I am not always sure when to use the right left verbal vs the wrap verbal but from what you just said when going to the tunnel he is just partially turning compared to the threadle verbal where he is turning a greater radius.

I practiced the set point again today. When I moved the jump to the 12 foot distance he actually bounced. I couldn’t believe how much he pushed off with the rear legs when he realized how much further the last jump was. So I then moved it another 3 feet to 15 feet and he did take one stride. We stopped at that point as the birds were roosting and making all sorts of noise to totally distract him. His sit stay was really good at that point. Do you want him to take one stride at the 12 foot distance? I was working on his sit stay. I think part of the problem right now is it is a little colder out and his package is sitting on the cold ground and he lifts his butt up!

I am using an iPhone to video. Any help with editing is appreciated.

    Thanks.

The sit stay is the hardest for him and do reward between but when doing the video don’t want to eat up a lot of time rewarding. I need to really keep working with this.

will try this smiley face video again.

You tube is making it difficult to post a video. It posts the wrong one even though I am on the one I want. It did that the other day but now I can’t figure out how to fix it! The one above is correct.

    wk 5 concept transfer:

    part 2

    wk 6
I had filmed these the day of the class. Then the weather turned super cold and then no time. These seemed like easier concepts than some of the previous. I just watched the games again and I believe in the long version for the wind in hair transitions you used 2 jumps vs wing and jump which is what I used. I’m sure he could progress to the 2 jumps.

    proofing game get out

    wind in hair transitions, wraps

handling game rock horse turn aways

jump foundation 4 zig zag part 2

    WK 7
I tried the smiley face and he was not getting the kiss verbal and was also very distracted with leaves blowing around. I did not video yet as he was not doing very good. I was having to give maximum hand signals and walk him all the way to the opposite tunnel entry. He knows tunnel and goes in with the tunnel verbal from a distance. I know you recommend having a different verbal for the opposite tunnel entry but not sure I can handle all these different verbals. Makes me have to think an awful lot when not used to it! LOL.

When is the last day we can post videos?

    wk 4 serps and tunnel

    wk 4 serps tunnel threadle

wk 4 Go, RC added backside

after watching the video I realized on the go I was behind the wing, shouldn’t I be off to the side and not behind the wing? Had a little difficulty with the backside on the right end of bar but got it on second try.

    wind in hair rear crosses

    wind in hair part 2

the diamond blind crosses. Blind crosses do not come naturally for me. Had to video a few times cause I wasn’t doing a blind. I am very old school front cross. Although in one of the above videos I did a blind instead of a rear I believe. Hopefully these are blinds.

    diamond figure 8

    diamond turn and burn

diamond race track. I’m still not really supposed to be running yet!

ok I changed to unlisted. That was my fault. I really didn’t want them to be public and thought anyone I sent them to could view them when private. I did not know what unlisted meant. This is a learning experience for me.
