Resilience Game 2: Predictability Part 1 – Markers

    Snack, Yip and Get It

These are my three food related location specific markers. I use Get It a lot and have done so in this course. I need to be more consistent with the other two, especially when I am doing agility related exercises.

    Sorry about the furnace noise!

    Look forward to your feedback.

    Driving Ahead Toy Races

I started with the favorite tug toy. Although he ran to it, he was using it as a target only. I switched to the lotus ball which he can reliably open. It just takes a while. He seemed more enthusiastic with that.

    Look forward to your feedback.

    Goat Tricks 3 Plankrobatics

I don’t have an ordinary plank. I could have chosen to bring one of the planks from the dog walk out of the storage room but that seemed like too much work so I went with the teeter which was already in this room and blocked both ends with a brick. That provided a plank but didn’t take all of the noise away. Rusty got the hang of it quite quickly but I did sense that he noticed the banging noise. Should I block that noise with a towel or just move on from here? Also I assume that having the plank a greater distance off the floor would be advantageous, in which case I am going to have to fetch a dog walk plank which I can elevate further with cinder blocks.

    Goat Tricks 2

Rusty playing with a tug toy for 2 minutes! Who knew?
Given Rusty’s size, I wish my wobbleboard were bigger. I don’t think either the movement or noise affects him. He seems rather happy playing back and forth across the board.

    Look forward to your feedback.

    Collar Grabs

Rusty doesn’t seem to mind the collar grab part. More work is needed on both lineup and middle but I was pleased with our progress.

    Blinds 2

Rusty does better on this one than the Decel exercise because the treat is in the hand that he is ultimately driving to. Is that ok or should I be calling him to an empty hand and ultimately rewarding from my other hand once he crosses my body?
    Look forward to your feedback.

    Decel Turn Foundation
This still needs work. As long as it is strictly on a lure, he does very well. As soon as it is following empty hand, not so much.

    Driving Ahead 2

Rusty was enthusiastic about driving ahead and seemed eager to do the next rep. I want to do more of these so he becomes more familiar with the go cue.

    Stealth Self-Control Framework Part 1
    Novel Neutral

There were two brief encounters with one of the neutral objects from which I quickly redirected him. The other two he seemed to ignore completely. I was pleased with his eagerness to continue playing the game.

    Wing Wrap Advanced

Sorry about the cat. I thought he was in the kitchen. They are quite good friends so not too horrible a distraction. Should I be increasing distance even further or is this good enough at this point?

    Goat Tricks II

I guess Rusty is part goat! He seemed to like these challenges. I added two unstable challenges at the end which he seemed to enjoy as well.

    Building Sends Advanced
Rusty seemed to get the hang of it and seemed to be having fun along the way. Should I be working toward greater distance?

    Rusty and Tug

There might be hope! After having tried all sorts of tug toys of different lengths and different materials, quite by accident, he grabbed this one yesterday and hung on! And this was this morning! Yay! I haven’t incorporated it into any of the exercises yet but will begin to do so. Any further hints are much appreciated.

    Goat Trick 1

I tried a variety of toys to heighten arousal with little luck so tried to create arousal with food. I should add that I will work on the toy play separately in addition to these exercises. Rusty seemed to get the goat part.

    Stealth SC Novel Neutral

Three novel neutral items – jump bump, jump standard and cardboard box. Except when I introduced the box, he seemed to ignore these neutral objects. Now to make them less neutral. I like this exercise!
