ParticipantAh! That makes sense. She’s about 8.5 months now.
Looking and driving ahead went well! We did do the entire thing but unfortunately my camera cut off. I did use the wrong toy for this game, she would look to see as I was preparing to throw.
Mountain Climbers went good! I helped her on her way up with some treats and Kyla held a yogurt plate at the end for her.

ParticipantThank you! Timing is so tricky! These Border Collies are very specific! I kept this session short and sweet. Yesterday I absolutely went too long.
A few oopsies still, however today felt much better. Running with her versus Kida is very different especially with timing!
She was unsure why the auntie had her toy toy and was pretty sure she needed to line up with her, lol!

ParticipantHi! Thank you. We are adding lots of rewarding for staying again!
Yesterday we had a fun match at our facility, so we did some of the sequencing we have been doing. By the end it looks like I became lazy with my cueing. She did super in the environment though!
Today we did BC to the tunnel our one side was great! Other side is a different story, lol. There was a few times I pushed into her line on our tough side and she started going around the jump instead of through it. That caused me to start hovering around that jump and then our issues started with the BC!
We tried our plank confidence again. We put some bumps underneath this time.

ParticipantHello! Today we had a quick session and worked on our tight turn sequence and tried one blind cross! I put the middle bar up 4 inches and tried the double hand cue, she did pretty well with it. Looking at the video I do think I have my arms too high.

ParticipantHi!
Timing and connection:
We had a few oopsies here
Concept transfer: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=KRhvvNEFB7g&feature=youtu.beShe said cheese was good but not good enough! So, yogurt it is!

ParticipantHi! Thank you. We did the Winging’ it game again today and seemed much more confident in her turns when I am getting her cues out faster.
We figured out she just thought the plank on the ground was too boring. I have to move with her and we brought out the big guns (cheese) and give her a bally after a few times of going back and forth.
Teeter Bang Game: Same thing here. Wasn’t quite sure about it at first but got more confident. She would do a rep, get her toy and then get a cheese.

ParticipantHi!
We tried both games again with more distance. For the lazy game, there were a few times when she would cut the middle jump. Am I moving too quickly away from her or just not supporting the jump? I also forgot to use both hands for that middle wing, will have to do that next time.

For plank work, she’s not understanding when it’s just flat on the ground. She only got on when I prop it up.

ParticipantHi! That’s a good idea, thank you. So far it seems like she likes going middle before setting up, she does it without asking. I don’t ask her to sit, just to wait. I guess it is confusing though if I ask her to be sitting if she starts crouching forward.
She is also the best when the mama hesitates or says the wrong cue!

ParticipantYes! Need to do more rewarding for staying now. She is starting to do the border collie crouch where she is leaning her chest into the ground from anticipation lol.

ParticipantHi!
We tried the lazy game. Now looking at it, should I have done a bigger send and less walking?

ParticipantHi! Here is what we have been up to:)
Some tunnel and lateral distance: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=3SCR3-WfGoE&feature=youtu.be
After our lesson on Sunday, I tried a small bit of the course with Sól: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=q8evm5nFqj4&feature=youtu.be

ParticipantThank you! She really was having so much fun getting to run in a big space. It’s exciting getting to see it all coming together!
Today we tried focusing with the lateral lead out game:
We did the accordion game as well. Is she started to close? She looks odd.
We did backsides again and I tried keeping all one speed. It seemed to go better!

ParticipantHi! We tried the Star fish game again at 20 ft apart. It was so fun! She really enjoyed being able to run super fast! The first run I think I cut out too fast on the right wing so she cut through but we managed to keep going. On the opposite side she had trouble finding the tunnel after doing the right wing but I think it was because I was going too fast to the tunnel? On the last run I slowed down and she managed to get in. You can hear her eagerly trying to get in, lol!
Shaelyn Livingstone
ParticipantThank you!! That makes sense!:)
We tried out the Lateral Lead outs:
We also took another try at the Backside Challenges. I need to be better at dropping the toy/ saying her chase it cue earlier : https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=b5puuh3qCJ8

ParticipantThank you!! Great information:) Should I be using the same cue for Threadle and Tandem turns? Or would it make sense to use different cues?
