We got a bit behind, but here is the concept transfer for rear crosses that we tried today. I sped up the tugging in between again. Is it better if I just cut it out of the video and leave the reps only? I feel like it makes the videos so long to have to watch it all sometimes.

I also realized I hadn’t posted this session of proofing the Minny Pinny. He’s doing better on the turn away to the right now. No target! He did have one rep he questioned it, but he got it the rest of the time.

I will let you know how it goes at 4′, but I’m probably going to give him a break on them for a day or so. You asked about how old he is. Dice will be 11 months old next week. (Don’t know how that’s possible, but that’s what the calendar says lol)

I will work on the arms to ribs. I need to repeat that as part of the verbals when I walk the course.

The spacing on the grid was just over 4’. I’ll set it at 4’ and see if that makes a difference. I was thinking that the striding might be different on the sand from what it was on the grass because it’s harder to run in too. I didn’t think about that until tonight.

We did attempt some training today, but the wind just got worse and worse. I couldn’t keep the wings up later in the day. We tried the Diamond with more room than we had in the building on Tuesday. I sped up the reward tugging in between reps, cause the video was too long with it normal. The actual reps are normal speed though. I couldn’t remember my verbals when I tried the racetrack portion of the game. Lol.

We tried the beginning ladder grid with a dragging toy as well, but only three reps cause the wind was picking up. He was definitely moving faster through the grid for the moving toy, but I’m curious to know what you think about his jumping. Do I need to adjust the spacing of the jumps, or are we ok?

Haha, the horses! I love those horses. They are a hoot. The one likes to come over and watch the dogs and I think tease them just a bit to see what they’ll do. This was our one rep that he just couldn’t handle the horse. Lol. Other than that he looked but didn’t break to go tell them off. Considering that my husband was cutting up branches in the other field and the horses were so close, he was awesome!

We tried the beginning of the ladder grid tonight. We tried it with the MM this time. Should we go back and try it with me dragging the toy the next time we try it?

I totally forgot about the placing a lure out between the bumps on the pinwheel. Thank you for the reminder! We will give it a try. 🙂

We have been working on the Minny Pinny proofing for a few days and we still are struggling on the “right” verbal turning away from me. Hopefully you can see if I’m doing something wrong. He is doing well with the Left turns away.

Find the Jump went pretty good, though when I watched it back, I think I was tossing the reward late. We were able to increase the distance of the jump from the tunnel though and we were able to work through me increasing distance laterally as well.

Ok, we tried to take a breath between reset cookies and sending back to the tunnel on the Tunnel Exit and Turns game tonight. I don’t think I got any reps where he came out of the tunnel on the “go” where he didn’t at least head check in with me, but maybe at least some progress. On the turns, I totally forgot that once he exited, I needed to then be switching to the wrap cue for the turn and burn. LOL. So, as you’ll see I just kept repeating the right and left instead. Someday, I’m going to get it. Looking forward to class tomorrow night!

Ok, I’m glad the set point exercise wasn’t too bad. 🙂

We went out and tried the wrap proofing today. I think he did really well. Me…well I got excited and forgot that I was supposed to be doing turn and burn after the wrap and loop. lol. But I will be sure to remember to do it the next time we try it. I will also try it with the toy next time too. The horses in the field were a huge distraction, so food was better today.

“And if you didn’t spill your water in the pre-game, it is time to go to a higher value drink like coffee” I don’t want to spill my coffee, that’s way too high value. Lol

Ok, we will come back to the wind in my hair and try those suggestions later in the week.

Today we tried the set point game. Here’s what went really well. I used the toy and was dragging it and he was able to hold his stay! Yay! I was so happy about that, I don’t think I was watching the jumping close enough. For one thing, I did too many reps and I’m also thinking it’s set a little closer than it was in the building. So, when I watched the video I am trying to figure out if his form breaks were from him being a little tired from our walk earlier, or if his jumping is a little off because I’m dragging the toy, or if it’s the distance. He double tapped more than once and I just don’t think it was as nice as when we were inside. But…I’m still thrilled with his stay, he was a very good boy!

Definitely trying to improve on connection. The workshop on Sunday was great, I didn’t get to watch all of it live, but I’m going to go back through and review it. I tried the pregame with the water bottle yesterday. I didn’t even get soaked. Lol

We tried the Wind in Our Hair game today. I had the MM set out in front of the jump today. I thought he might be more excited about passing me to get to that than to go to a dead toy on the ground. It wasn’t our most brilliant session. Apparently I wasn’t being patient enough when I was sending him to the wrap and kept pulling him off. The other day, he was leaving me to wrap…today I couldn’t send him. Lol. I also lost him at one point when a vehicle caught his attention. I don’t know what was so interesting about that particular vehicle, but he definitely was intrigued.

We’re glad to back to training! Here is our attempt at the smiley face game. I have a couple questions. I am wondering if I was using the verbals right? I wonder if I should have been saying right or left on some of the start wings, instead of my wrap cues? I had a couple times where I lost connection and he went in the wrong end of the tunnel. I think he’s going to make sure I improve on this. LOL. There was also a part of the session where he just kept either anticipating the tunnel or the wrap. Do you want me to handle that differently?

Yes, the feedback made a lot of sense. He’s definitely stimulated by movement. So this is good for me to work on. 😊

I moved the jumó in closer and tried to be more connected. I think it went well. We had a couple bobbles but not like yesterday. Overall I thought he seemed more confident about what I was cueing, so I hope I did it right.

Ok we have a mess. Lol. Remember the jumping up at my hand when we did the tunnel threadles? Well, we’ve still apparently got that and now have added in not wrapping after he comes out of a tunnel, and also bipassing the tunnel when we do get a wrap and head back to the tunnel. I feel embarrassed to post this because it’s obvious he isn’t understanding what I’m doing, but for some reason I kept trying instead of stopping. I included all the reps, but cut out the tugging in between from the video. Sorry in advance it’s still so long.
