    Tunnel games:
We tried the tunnel game inside the building with the tiny short tunnel. I tried the tunnel threadle side and also shorter collar grabs with a treat. I don’t have a cue picked for a tunnel threadle. Will this be different from our normal threadle cue?

    Rotated sends:
I think Dice did great, but when I watched it back, did I move my arms too much? It looked like I was trying to lure him around the cones. lol

    Rear cross on the flat:
Ok, I hope I’m doing this right, I have always struggled with rear crosses in general. I’ve never trained lap turns or tandem turns either, so I’m not as confident in what I’m doing.

I will try to work on some of the other games tomorrow. I’m a bit behind this week.

Thank you for all the feedback, I know i dumped a lot into that one post so I appreciate all your time!

I have a quick question about the collar grab. I was waiting for him to look at the tunnel before I released, but if I’m understanding correctly, you want me to release whether he is focused on the tunnel or not? I’m sure he would be a much bigger fan if that than what I was doing.

Thank you for the suggestions about the handling combo left wraps. I don’t know if we will be able to train outside the rest of the week or not, we are expecting snow tonight, but we can work on it the best we can in the training room.

I am playing a bit of catch up here submitting video. Sorry!

    Ladder
He definitely wanted to bounce through at first, but I think he’s got the idea of trotting now. 😊

    Goat games and plankrobics
I rolled up the thicker mat under the wobble board and replaced it with the thinner yoga mat. He was a little unsure about the noise at first, but he’s going better with it now. I also raised the plank a little and tried to slow down the circles.

    Tunnel games 1
We had a little snow but it melted off, so we went to the tunnel outside. He really isn’t thrilled with me holding the collar yet, but I’m rewarding for the collar grab, so hopefully it’ll improve.

    Beginning startline stays
My tosses aren’t great, but I think he’s getting the idea.

    Handling combo
Ok, so a couple things with this one. I decided to go with “wrap” for wraps to the right and “loop” for wraps to the left. I have used the cues in turn and burn game and now i was trying the handling combos. What I’m noticing is that with the wraps to the left, he is really wide. Not surprising, with what we’ve seen before in his preference for turning right. But I didn’t include blind crosses this time because it seems to me I’m noticing him hanging out even wider in anticipation of a blind. I’m wondering if I should go back and work more turn and burn, instead of handling combo for now? Or maybe stick with front crosses and the decel combo on that side for a bit? What do you think?

Thanks again, and sorry for the huge video dump today!

It’s been a busy week, so we are getting a slow start on getting our training videoed, but we will try to get some done over the weekend. Here is the leg bump and ladder games though.

Awesome, thank you! I will watch for him “sticking his landing”. Lol Is there any chance of getting that list of cues that you mentioned last week?

I hope the seminar went well! No rush in getting to this, we have plenty of other things to work on. I hope you get some time to rest up.

    Backing up 2
We are getting a few steps of backing up now, so I added a slanted board to back up to.

When I watched the video of the counter motion with the prop, I realized that I should have been closer. We will work on that. 😊

So, I have been thinking about verbals for the wrap, but you mentioned that you might have a list of cues people have used that we might find helpful? If you do have that, I would love to see it!

We tried the collection sandwich outside today. I’m sure we will need to make some adjustments, but I was pretty happy with how it went for our first attempts using the treat and the toy.

Ok, I went back and rewatched the live class and noticed I didn’t process it when you pointed out changing the treats from being in the hand closest to Dice. I’m sorry, i wasn’t consciously ignoring you. Lol. I don’t know why it didn’t click at the time, but I am making it a point to change that this week. It is such a hard habit to change after 20 years.

    Prop
I did go ahead and switch out the prop for a deflated exercise ball I had. It doesn’t slip or flip and he is more comfortable hitting it I think. I think On parallel path is he doing better letting me increase distance, but I think my throws could have been quicker to avoid getting the head turn to me after the hit. On the counter motion games, I think I tried to move a little too soon on a couple, but overall I think he is doing ok. I haven’t tried the rear cross yet.

    Turn and Burn
I know I should be mostly concerned with what Dice is doing, but I was so happy that I was mostly remembering to reward with the toy in the correct hand. Lol. As for Dice, I think he was doing well with the turn to the left this time even though that’s his harder side. My apologies in advance, the dogs in the house heard us training and were pitching a fit. You might want to turn the sound down.

We didn’t have a chance to work on implementing any of the feedback from yesterdays games yet, but we will! What we did work on was backing up. This is what we have so far.

    Focus forward and driving ahead
He is now driving ahead to a dead toy. I haven’t added my motion, but I think I could now, what do you think? My other question comes because he is always turning to the right. Do you want me to hold off on doing more of this, or is there an adjustment you’d like me to make? Maybe it would not be an issue if im racing up to the toy?

    Wrap foundation
We tried it with a old milk can. The change of object didn’t seem to bother him.

    Goat tricks 2
Dice is pretty confident with getting in and on different surfaces and objects. Movement doesn’t bother him too much. I think he’s doing well going back to the toy after the food. It’s still not as high value as food, but I think it’s improving.

    Plankrobics
I am thinking I should be able to raise the height a little, he is confident with it on the ground level.

We tried toys on both the wrap and target. I think he’s getting it. Is it ok to back up with the toy on both of these after he either wraps or hits the target with his feet? Or so you prefer that I stay stationary?

We worked on switching back and forth tugging with two toys today. I figured I would try it first in the building before we moved outside. I think he did pretty well! I was thinking I’d try again and possibly add the cone for playing the wrap game?

Sounds good. We will try to incorporate more toys in all these games and I’ll
Make the adjustments with the feet position and movement, if my brain and feet cooperate. Lol. Thank you for all the detailed feedback, it’s really awesome!

I think anything he thinks he can interact with for a chance for treats, he’s pretty eager to try. Whether it’s propped against a wall or laying on the floor. Lol

Wrap game. We tried the pile of cones again and then swapped them out for a jumó upright. He really likes this game!

Blind cross foundation game. I definitely have one direction that is easier for me than the other as you’ll probably see. I used treats, would you rather we try a toy next time? Would you recommend doing this game outside where we would have more space?

Prop game. I notice a couple things. When I do the ready dance too many times, he is like…..umm can you just get on with it? Or maybe he’s just embarrassed by my dancing. The other thing I noticed was that I moved the dustpan out further at one point and I think it increased the distance more than I ideally should have.

One more question about drive ahead and focus forward game. Do you want me to play it with food and my motion while we still work on building value for dead toy separately, or just focus on the toy skill for now? Thanks so much for all your help!

Ok we went out and tried mixing the toy in for the goat tricks real quick. Here is what we got. I’m pretty happy with it! https://youtu.be/q8d_8mJpPJA
