    Thanks Tracy
Very interesting that he was turning that way. I will try to toss more laterally.
Today we tried just the verbal on the threadle wrap. I had to help just a little to start but then he seemed to get it.

    Hi Tracy
Thanks. Lol yes king of circling for sure.

We tried the tunnel threadle on the baby tunnel in the basement. I need to pull out my tunnel outside still. Lol it’s heavy. We also played reverse retrieve game. Overall I thought they went well and look forward to your feedback.

    Hi Tracy
Dublin will be 7 months on May 18. I will slow him down so he doesn’t crash again.
Thanks so much for the drawings and the verbals. I am leaning towards slice or push for the backside slice and then using my around for the backside wrap since I think that is what I had used it for the most. Guess I need to go back and change the verbal we had started. When do we add the verbal for the backside wrap?
Today we did the Threadle wrap. He is fun. He loves to go in circles around the cone. Does make me wonder though if I need to play with some more parallel line things to offset all the circles 🤣

    Hi Tracy
I thought I had shared video of the cone with the double wraps I had done prior to this but guess I didn’t video. I will do them again with him. I am wondering if I should add a wing in yet. My in person instructor had us do one last night and he wrapped too tight and it crashed 🥲🥲. I had told her we were using the pop up crate and cones. She suggested doing wraps of more things including wings.

Still having trouble figuring out verbal for the backsides. Do you have another suggestion for the slice verbal? I think we are early enough if I want to change it. I don’t want three backside verbals either but the 180 vs 360 has my mind going round 😂

    Hi Tracy
    Thanks!

And I have a game coming soon to teach the pups to have fun even when we humans mess us LOL! 😂

oh do I need this 😂😂😂😂

And a backside circle wrap verbal (I use dig dig dig dig because I can chop it up for added collection support).
“Back back back” is also a good choppy word for the backside wraps, and a nice contrast to ‘around’.

ok. I will have to figure 2nd verbal. I use Dig dig for front side wraps. Wondering if too confusing to use back since that has been back up?

Since he did so well here, we can isolate his head turn even more: you can line him up at your side, send him around the cone, As he is coming around the cone, the same hand that sent him will now meet his nose (you can have a cookie in the hand) and draw his nose past the cone, then slowly turn him away to get to wrap for a 2nd time. The instance he turns his head to start the 2nd wrap, you can mark (click or verbal marker) and toss the treat around the cone.

So like the exercise I did last week on the jump stantion?

    Hi Tracy
Thanks. I think he is doing great. I am trying very hard to keep things clear for him but have some work to do on my handling. He is a sensitive one at times. I will add more toss back to him in the stay and maybe even some cookie toss starts so we don’t blow or muddle the start cue. He seems to get the stay but then I see him yawning. Need to make sure not too much pressure or stress.

To help keep him thinking more and the hand and cue, and less about the toy you can try putting the toy down on the ground, then line him up in the sit. That way the last thing he sees if you lining up, as opposed to the toy toss being the last thing he sees before the release. That can make it easier to focus on the cues and not on the toy 🙂

I had tried it both ways the day before and he was still going to the toy. I think because it was the 1st time we had played tug since my surgery it was just too hard for him also 😂. I will place toy and transport him away next time.

I agree on the wow for the wobble board. We have taken it very slow like you suggested.

Today we continued next steps for our backside wrap. He was thrilled to play tug again 😂

For the backsides. I have only one verbal now. I mainly do AKC. My in person instructor told me I do need the two verbals for backsides. I have used around for them. Trying to figure 2nd one. To be honest I am a little confused when I would use each also. Is the wrap verbal the same for 360 and 180 wraps? I am probably overthinking it which is one of my faults lol.

    Hi Tracy
Thanks. We tried the backsides again in my in person class last week and I think he is doing well. Sad no video. Can’t fire my volunteer who had tech difficulties.
We tried to do some threadles with the toy yesterday. It didn’t go awesome and the video was messed up for that too. He was breaking stay and going right to toy when I had him in position 2. So today we tried again serps and threadles with food then a quick toy rep. I also included where we are at with the wobble board. No towels under it and smallest ball under it. I think he is looking good. I question next steps. Maybe add next larger ball and some towels again? Or ask for a few reps instead of one and reward?

    Thanks Tracy!

Today we worked on our backside slices.
I thought it went well once I got my mechanics better and eye contact better. Since I don’t have a ton of space I used the larger cone. Hopefully that was ok.

    Hi Tracy
Nope didn’t edit. It was just me getting confused when he was on the right 😂. Good to know I hid it well 🤣🤣🤣
Should I move on to do next steps?

Lol poor Dublin doesn’t get not tugging. I feel bad.

    Hi Tracy
Thanks. Toy play might need to wait till after my Dr follow up Thursday lol. Hand is doing well but tug pressure might hurt too much. I will work on the other things you mentioned.
Today we tried the tight turns. Not sure why I got confused for my mechanics on this one even though I watched the video a few times. That messed us up but overall I thought it went well. My in person agility instructor had commented on how tight his turns seem to be the other day. He seems to like going around things for sure lol.

    Hi Tracy
Sorry have been quiet this last week. I had Carpel tunnel surgery on my hand last Tuesday. We did little things like delayed reinforcement during the week in my family room but no videos. Today we did quick video in the basement for the delayed reinforcement. We started the new weeks games. We had done pivots before so showing where we are. I have pivoted up and down from foam pad also but have not done over a pole. We also tried strike a pose for the threadle. That was surprising in his excitement towards the MM. guess we have not used it in a few weeks so it was more challenging. Plus it had better than his kibble in it 😂. Overall I think I have the idea ok but things to work on.

    Hi Tracy
We took a few days off. Today we went back to the strike a pose concept transfer. I was going to use the dropped toy but he had trouble with the held toy for my warm up. He didn’t want to stay as well as he did before. Maybe because I had released him right away prior when I put my hand out. Overall I think session went ok. We also redid the out with me trying to do better with my eye contact. I thought it went great. What should next steps be on these? Toy on ground and maybe more distance? Was hoping to go outside but rain is interfering lol.

    Hi Tracy
Thanks. Today we went outside. Mother nature seemed to create its own resilience game. The wind was blowing our glider so it squeaked and was making the umbrella cover which ripped flap. Dublin did great going past all of the oddities. He knew I had some better cookies to work though lol. We did the rocking horse game with movement and also tried the rotated sends again. Sad to say this was 2nd attempt at video for rotated sends. 1st one my stupid phone totally zoomed in for and you couldn’t see anything 😢. The better cookies and toy were a win. He was engaged well most of the time.

    Hi Tracy
For the remote reinforcement. It looks like you just had the food on that crate. In the past I have done this with treats in a container/cookie jar that I can use at trials. Is there a benefit in leaving the treats more open? I could see that as an additional challenge. My marker is the word Cookies for this but I usually say it more like COOOOOKKKIEEEEEEEs. With a very excited tone. I noticed how calmly you say it. Do you see an issue with making it more excited?

    Hi Tracy
Hope you had a nice weekend. We had a break the last couple of days without any heavy training.

He was impressive with his ability to chew and back up! It is like tapping your head and rubbing your stomach 😆 do you have a cookie that he can slurp down to make it easier?

These were new cookies. I was trying to break them down but obviously didn’t break them small enough. He is talented or driven for sure LOL.

The smaller mat is harder, of course – I think we wasn’t always getting all feet on? That seem fo be the case especially when he was going from your left to your right. You can try him again on the narrow mat and see if he can get all 4 feet on. If not, we can use a wider mat for now 😀

Yes he was not doing as well going left to right. Seems to be a pattern with him with that side of him facing me he likes to come closer to me. Should I try to stop him with all 4 on 1st? I remember doing running contact work with Brighton and that mat that we started with a couple of cones next to the mat to keep him going onto it.

I looked over the threadle game. Dublin can do left and right turns next to me on both sides of me with hand signal and verbal. Should I still start with all of the same steps or do you want to see where he is at? I don’t think he will need to stay on the earlier steps too long.
