    Really enjoying camp!
Following your handling suggestions, we did sequence 2 and 3 again. We certainly had much better speed out of the tunnels!
I kept my arm back from 2-3, but I wasn’t sure if you meant I give him the 4 cue before he takes off to 3? If that is correct, I suppose because of the straight line that the cue coming a jump prior will give more understanding and speed? I did give it to him prior to 3.

Week 1 agility course 2 was set up at my training facility. I felt our first run was pretty good. Bottom of dog walk I thought it was a backside cue and then I lost him. Bottom of the A-frame, I gave him his tight turn cue and he turned the other way. I then used his left curvand it worked much better. In running it again, those areas were better! However, we had issues in other areas. 4-5 and 5 to tunnel. Timing and connection?

Magnet fingers tip is great! I tried keeping that in mind (along with all the other things going through my head during the run!)
The beginning of the video is sequence 2 and sequence 3 for both single run and the double whammy.
The last part of the video showed our trouble spots…jump 8 (sequence 2) as well as jump 9 (sequence 3). We also had issues at jump 3 (sequence 3) where he wanted to take the backside, even though I felt my toes were facing the right way.
I did stop at these points even though you said it’s best to keep going. I tried to keep that in mind as well!

Yes, everything you pointed out on my agility run makes total sense as I watch it back. I will set up my own pop-outs on these and practice more!

Today we worked on week two handling skills sequence 1. First round I definitely see that I was too far in front of jump 6. We got it the second round, but I might’ve been too wide on jump 6?
We then tried the double whammy and as I began the second round, I lost connection and you can hear me saying that lol.
We then had a few hiccups… Not going to the tunnel, and going to the backside of jump 7. My feet were not pointed in the right direction as I watch it back in slow motion!
We went out later in the day and were able to complete the double whammy first try!

Wonderful info! I can now definitely see where my connection with him is not as good as it could be.
I really like the idea of timing the different handling lines and will implement this strategy moving forward.

Video below is at the facility where I train. Kyla (who is also in this course) is my instructor.

I had many failed attempts getting from 2 to 3 but only showed a couple of them here! Finally got the timing down and we continued on. After the A-frame, I meant for him to wrap the jump towards me, but he went the other way which threw me off a little bit. Again, after a couple of attempts, we had success and continued to the end.

Yes his flip away is something new for us. I could have used that skill at a recent trial so now I’ve added it to our list of skills to work on!
I absolutely should have turned him to the right on the beginning of the second and fourth pop out. Navigating the best line is relatively new to me and I am starting to put more thought into the process.

That leads me to my next set of videos for the pop out agility courses. Pop out 1 went well. Pop out 2. 😱 I had the idea that the way I would handle it was a good choice, but clearly not so successful…even when he did finally bypass jump 4, it was sloppy. Was it a better line when I sent him to the other wing of 4 and BC to 5…seemed smoother?
That brings me to the question about the lead leg. I believe in that last scenario he would be on the same lead whereas the first one he would have to change twice, correct?
Pop out 3 went well and again I did alternative handling from 8 to 9. Both seemed smooth to me. Thought pop out 4 went well.

    Look forward to your feedback!

Great feedback! I took your advice and stayed on the other side of the weaves for two of the exercises. First exercise worked well and I made sure I didn’t take the jump myself again! Lol
Second exercise, he got his entry but missed the next pole…hard angle. We finally did it.
I tried pop out # four and lost connection… Not once, but twice!
Managed to have success, and then I layered the weaves for his final run.

Thank you very much for your feedback! Our next video includes two segments from the handling skills. Taking your suggestion I trusted him more on jump 4 and did the BC earlier.
Next are 3 pop out jumping courses. I feel my arm is quite high when I send him to the far backside. I actually tried it with a lower arm and he didn’t go to that jump. Thought I had a video of that! I will have to experiment with different arm levels.
