ParticipantGet Out Prop Game 4
I think we are making some progress with this game. As my next step, I think I need to take it into the garage where I can get more lateral distance and where my thrown treats don’t end up under stuff at the edge of the room like they were doing in my bigger room which is why I moved here.
Is there a shortcut to get to the end of the videos when posting the most recent one? Needless to say, each time it takes longer to scroll through all of the ones I have posted.
Look forward to your feedback.

ParticipantBacking Up Outside
Outside should be in quotes! Given the extended snow cover this winter (there are still two small piles in the driveway), this was Rusty’s intro to working outside. Therefore I took it step-by-step. So first backing up to the inside garage door (with the garage open) and then to the garage doorway. I also inserted a Resilience Game (scatter) near the end. The two reps after that are notable!
Look forward to your feedback.

The barrels are now 12 feet apart and I am standing more upright. Rusty is still a bit too interested in the whereabouts of the food. I think the trial where I was saying ‘Go go go’ went more smoothly. I do think he responds well to verbal cues. What verbal cue should I be using most advantageously in this situation?

ParticipantStrike A Pose Part 2
Rusty liked this game. I have to say that your course design makes him look brilliant when really it’s the step by step process of your exercises that build from week to week.
Look forward to your feedback.

ParticipantThe Shpile Game
Rusty seemed to have a lot of fun with this game. He got braver as it went on tackling the noise and unstable surfaces. And he worked in more arousal as the game went on.

ParticipantGet It Out Prop Game
Baby Level from one side only. I thought I would get some feedback before proceeding further. From the video, I am guessing that my body is turned too much as I point and throw. Rusty caught on way quicker than I thought he would.
Look forward to your feedback.

Baby Level – I would say that Rusty got the hang of this game pretty quickly!

Took to these like a fish to water. He likes backing up!

Once he got in the rhythm, I thought he did quite well working at the longer distance and sending away from me. This foodie is in love with the Manners Minder!

ParticipantRetrieves 2
Here is my attempt at retrieves in a larger space. I am deliberately not in the basement because that is where Rusty expects food and goes on strike when it is not available.
The first two retrieves with the white cord went pretty well. It was downhill after that! I tried the fur pouch which has had food in it in the past and so like the lotus ball, he wants to keep it for himself so he has the time to try to open it.
Lastly I tried balls – his two favorite balls. Some action there but not a lot.
Let’s just say I welcome your feedback. He is a very much “what’s in it for me” type dog. At this point, food rather than fun is very much his “it”.

ParticipantRotated Sends 2
Though accurate, he was a bit less animated in this sequence. Let’s just say that it was done following Parallel Path Commitment at the end of a long day that involved his going to obedience class and then waiting while his sister had class too. I think he understands the task.
Look forward to your feedback.

ParticipantParallel Path Commitment 2
Much more actual commitment to going between the uprights this time around. This is the final three quarters of the session unedited. He didn’t make any missteps in the first quarter either!
Look forward to your feedback.

ParticipantAlternate Rear Cross 2
Rusty definitely benefitted from our initial session. I think I felt better about his progress after reviewing the video. I thought it best to begin with the food tosses before adding in the prop. He is not magnetized to the prop but it did seem to draw his attention.
As to the Kamal Workshop, I ended up only taking Rusty. We were only allowed to crate one dog inside and given the frigid weather conditions, I was not willing to crate either of them in the car for lengthy periods of time. Also Sunday was Handler’s Choice and that day you can only work one dog. So I think it worked out for the better – was also Rusty’s intro to hotel stays.
Look forward to your feedback.

ParticipantRetrieves
Rusty does them but in a lackluster way. I think the balls went better than the toys. Clearly more toy work is needed.
Look forward to your feedback.
