ParticipantWing Wrap 2
Per your suggestions, I used a taller object and set the food targets farther back. He likes this game.
Look forward to your feedback.

Every time we go to the basement Rusty runs over to the teeter. The fact that it isn’t totally braced so bangs and moves a bit doesn’t seem to phase him. So I used it as is. He seems to love whatever we do on it. If he missteps off, he carries on as if it is no big deal.
Look forward to your feedback.

ParticipantTracy – I think my Wobbleboard 2 posted on February 1st got missed. Given what transpired, I am interested in your feedback. TIA

ParticipantReinforcement Strategies
I started with food in palm or between fingers. In palm seems more natural to me. Then I proceeded to toys. I began with toys I see him playing with in the kitchen. No interest. Then I proceeded to the black furry tug which he does seem to like, then on to a bit of two toy work and lastly some alternating toy and food. The funniest part is that in the end I threw out Folger’s hard plastic dumbbell, too big and technically not a toy. Surprisingly to me, Rusty had significant interest in playing with it.
Lots more work to be done getting Rusty to play with toys but at least I have a start.
Look forward to your feedback.

ParticipantWobbleboard 2
Well this was interesting! I had only used the Wobbleboard previously on the mats so per your instructions I tried a harder surface. The concrete was a new experience. This whole session was 4 minutes and 19 seconds. It is in three parts – beginning, middle and end. I deleted a potion of the middle just to keep it closer to the 2 minutes mark. In the beginning he seemed comfortable playing on it. Then I threw a reset treat toward the dryer. His return after that was anything but confident. I kept encouraging, at times thinking that maybe I should have stopped. Little by little he got back on and after the second reset treat toward the dryer, he was back to where he started in terms of willingness to work on the board. I have no clue what changed. I thought that when I reviewed the video that I would discover that the board had pinched one of his back feet but couldn’t find the evidence.
On another day or two we will revisit the Wobbleboard again in the laundry room.

Talk about the inconsistent use of marker words! I vow to do better! I think in this situation, I would/should use ‘yes’ as I did a few times. Once again I started with a toy and wasn’t getting much of anywhere.
I should add that I discovered that I had posted two previous times to the header for the exercise, not under Rusty and Sally. Can you correct that?
Look forward to your feedback.

ParticipantResilience Game 2: Predictability Part 1 – Markers
Snack, Yip and Get It
These are my three food related location specific markers. I use Get It a lot and have done so in this course. I need to be more consistent with the other two, especially when I am doing agility related exercises.
Sorry about the furnace noise!

ParticipantDriving Ahead Toy Races
I started with the favorite tug toy. Although he ran to it, he was using it as a target only. I switched to the lotus ball which he can reliably open. It just takes a while. He seemed more enthusiastic with that.

ParticipantGoat Tricks 3 Plankrobatics
I don’t have an ordinary plank. I could have chosen to bring one of the planks from the dog walk out of the storage room but that seemed like too much work so I went with the teeter which was already in this room and blocked both ends with a brick. That provided a plank but didn’t take all of the noise away. Rusty got the hang of it quite quickly but I did sense that he noticed the banging noise. Should I block that noise with a towel or just move on from here? Also I assume that having the plank a greater distance off the floor would be advantageous, in which case I am going to have to fetch a dog walk plank which I can elevate further with cinder blocks.

Rusty playing with a tug toy for 2 minutes! Who knew?
Given Rusty’s size, I wish my wobbleboard were bigger. I don’t think either the movement or noise affects him. He seems rather happy playing back and forth across the board.Look forward to your feedback.

ParticipantCollar Grabs
Rusty doesn’t seem to mind the collar grab part. More work is needed on both lineup and middle but I was pleased with our progress.

Rusty does better on this one than the Decel exercise because the treat is in the hand that he is ultimately driving to. Is that ok or should I be calling him to an empty hand and ultimately rewarding from my other hand once he crosses my body?

ParticipantDecel Turn Foundation
This still needs work. As long as it is strictly on a lure, he does very well. As soon as it is following empty hand, not so much.

ParticipantDriving Ahead 2
Rusty was enthusiastic about driving ahead and seemed eager to do the next rep. I want to do more of these so he becomes more familiar with the go cue.

ParticipantStealth Self-Control Framework Part 1
Novel NeutralThere were two brief encounters with one of the neutral objects from which I quickly redirected him. The other two he seemed to ignore completely. I was pleased with his eagerness to continue playing the game.
