ParticipantOh, I watched the video in slo mo and I was totally turned into her. So interesting.
We tried out. She missed the prop a few times, but moved out and was on the line so I rewarded. I’ve ordered the cheese balls so we shall see. More rain coming. So, indoors again for a few days.

ParticipantOk, I’ll play more with the toy keeping it in one hand. I was trying to not have it in the send hand. Dot tries to steal it out of my pocket if I stuff it in there.
I have a question on the out lecture. What marker are you using when they go out and hit the prop? I thought you said “yes”, but then you were tossing a cookie towards the prop. This is a duplicate question as I asked under the lecture, but I won’t get a notification if it’s answered there. Sorry. I wasn’t sure if I’d get anything filmed today.
This is the concept transfer to the jump from awhile ago. Left a blooper in!

ParticipantOk, I’ll keep working on it. Lots of rain do we are stuck indoors for a few days.
Here is rocking horse. I tried the toy in the middle, but she kept trying to jump up to get it rather than work. So, I went back to food.

ParticipantShe has no interest in food or snuffle when she’s running amok with the toy. It’s like the Tasmanian devil. But, I can try to react less and see if it helps.
We tried backing up today.
Ginger McMullen
ParticipantOk, she’s crazed when she does that and could knock over lamps etc. i will try not to police it so much. Its rain for days so oent up energy now.
We played baby toy in the kitchen. I want to be sure this is ok.

ParticipantHi Tracy,
This is round two. The first round she snagged the toy out of my hand after the third rep and went leaping and zooming all over the couches, living room etc. When I finally caught here I put her up and played with Sprite for a bit. I’m working too hard to try to engage her. She isn’t naturally wanting to engage and is more interested in her environment. I brought her back out and out the toy on a leash. The plan wasn’t to let go, but she pulled it hard.

ParticipantOh, that’s a great idea. She does work in the living room and I’m trying to give her more freedom. But, she struggles to settle versus get into mischief.
Today I went to Colleen’s house to let Dot play with Roulette. This was after the play session and Colleen is filming with Rou by her side. Bonus…she peed twice in the backyard!

ParticipantHi Tracy,
So, we tried the RC game in the hall. It’s pretty narrow and dark. Plus, Dot hasn’t trained here before. She did leave me to go run zoomies in the living room after we changed sides. But,I got her back, let her sit in the xpen for a bit and then finished. I then baby gated off the area.
We did 3 reps on the first side and she left after the 2 nd rep on the new side. So, I don’t think it was too many reps.
I think it’s the allure of freedom in the other room.

ParticipantWe do play “soccer” in the yard with a jolly ball and a doggy soccer ball.
And…I was immediately tossing the toy again after she brought it back and got the treat. It was from Sara Brueske’s pay to play class which worked well for Sprite. Dot understands it with a platform or much lower value items.
So, I can do the baby retrieve lecture with just tugging in my lap, correct? Dot prefers chase to tug in general. You’ve seen the two toy game where she wants the toy she wants. It’s been like this from day one.
We tried the sit stay lecture, but the cheese was frozen and either sticking to my hands or crumbling all over the ground.

ParticipantHey, guess what? Dot peed three times at the seminar. Afterward, I stopped at a friend’s to allow Dot to play with her doberman puppy since she was crated most of the day. It was Sprite’s day. They played and she peed in their backyard! Huge break through! Yahoo.
Fold it in video. She did great at first, but then the bowl siren was too much. So, some in the middle the bowl isn’t loaded. Then, it is again.
I can’t use a toy as her retrieve is worse. She is grabbing the toy, running away and avoiding me. I can’t get her back even with food now. So, I am working on her bringing a toy and dropping it in a tub. Plus, back to a platform to help her understand to pick the toy up and come to the platform.
I’m not sure where it all went wrong, but it is conflict and avoidance which needs to change before i can use toys to train.-

ParticipantWe’ve been busy with seminars so i havent had a chance to get more stuff done. Dot is still strugglimg to pay attention in enviroments.
Ginger McMullen
ParticipantSeminar was hard for Dot to focus. But, she did manage to pee on the grass!
Here is our lap turn and tandem turn practice. It’s too rushed and she is struggling to turn as she needs to slow down.

ParticipantI’m a little worried about a toy on the ground as getting it back will be an issue. We are making progress in certain environments with lower value toys. But, she might bring it back twice and then the next rep she stands and stares at me with the toy in her mouth or she takes off running with it.
Here is her first tunnels. The bowl worked if she had a straight shot. I tried a few from angles like in the video. Mostly, she went around the outside of the tunnel and didn’t go in. If she did go in, then she couldn’t find the bowl that was right at the exit. You’ll see one of those. So, I just went back to straight on.
I’ve finally relented and ordered a treat and train from Amazon. Never used one before. Hopefully, it’ll be helpful.

ParticipantI have been able to get her to pee on the neighbors lawn twice in the past few days and my front lawn once! I’m calling that a win.
We did strike a pose. I overdid the sit stay and she’s definitely not ready for toy on the ground just yet.
Ginger McMullen
ParticipantYes, she goes potty on leash a lot! It isn’t 100% of the time, but a huge proportion as she was digging, eating bark, running zoomies etc rather than go potty. I recently changed out the bark for pea gravel. I think it’s helped. Yesterday I got her to pee on a neighbors lawn which is huge. I had been on a walk with Sprite and she had been crated. I took her around the corner and tried to get her to go. Nope. So, I let her have water and put her back in the crate. Then, after 15 min or so I took her out and she went on the next door lawn. This is huge! I’m concerned about the seminar as she will need to go there. I’ve no idea why she struggles so much. She was checked out for a UTI and didn’t have one. It’s a preference and she’s persistent in her wants.
Yes, I thought the Sprite game was challenging for her!
