Weekend of agility with important life skills! Pooping on leash- best pooper ever A+. Sleeping in bed B. Settling is challenging but super morning behavior!
Flight bag for 1 hour drive. B+ still not as relaxed as I hope for plan- super short drives. On the way home she was in a crate. Crated at trial instead of expen- A+. Stay games at trial A, greeting all strangers with exuberance, wags, and dirty feet on them A+ able to refocus to me easily.

I did an unrecorded fine my face in the RV. I show find my face round 2 and sit stay challenge with toys and food. On one find my face she sat watching me- not sure if I handled that well. We will do a session outside later. Maybe she thought I was going out the door??

Love the recall games this week and find my face. So very clever!!! The stay challenge is just mean- Taq says. More Barrels is what she wants always! Baby steps.

We took a training day off. We may finally be getting the tunnel
    Threadles.

I tried to hold still on threadle slice vs serp. I also tried to stick to my lines on the backside slice. She loved the new games!

    iPhone sadly hates google.

    I am
Not sure if I am cuing the backside slice correctly. Sometimes I felt like I was pushing the line too hard.

I switched to the bump and could not leave a toy on the ground so went back to manners minder for the threadles and serps.

Anything with a barrel in it and she is all in. I did a session with dropped food and the dropped toy and then just sent. On one rep she took off to do the wrap so quickly I barely got to the other side. I sense that my obstacle focused dog is here!

This was a crazy awesome day. It had poured rain so I did not think I could do a cookie toss so I grabbed the Cato
Board and thought I would try a sit. Wow what a good puppy!

Good morning! I tried the head turn again sitting. She is so quick I am not sure I was marking it as well as I could have. We also had a bit of daylight to do serp/threadle.

Here are more stats and remote reinforcement beginnings. She did really well with the remote R! Yeah.

And our first 2 attempts at the head turns

Another question- on the remote reinforcement- two words or 1 for both play and toys? My word is corny. I use Cookies in a sing-song voice for my competition dog after her run, and we go to a stash, so this is already part of my vocab. But I will feel dumb saying cookies as we get a toy stash. Let’s Go is my cue to trot on a show lead ingrained over 45 years.

Will work on verbals but at least I paused before throwing!

I’m laughing this morning watching the video. She can only stay if she belly punches me first… Her mom can only stay at the start line if she bounces 2-3 times first. I just assumed it was an excitement release. Her mother goes straight up- does not touch me. Taq is better built, and straight up would be hard for her. She is built to jump forward in an arc.

    1. My question is should I try and get rid of this? She is inspired to do it when working closely with me in a confined area right now. If we are in the yard and I throw a toy and she returns she is not gut punching me. It does not hurt- I have lots of padding where she is hitting me 😉

    2. I took notes on your comments. I am as impatient as my dogs. I NEED TO WAIT BEFORE TOSSING TOY. I can’t believe you did not mention the fact that I used 4 different markers for the same behavior… arrg. I need to tell myself before I start which cue and be more consistent. I am torn about the throwback if I should use a different cue for food VS toy and a different cue for thrown back VS anywhere.

Get it- is treat thrown (forward or to the side- could be back)
Look- I tried for treat thrown back
Catch is toy at dog (I use this so it is in my brain)

Is it bad if I just use “get it” for the treat (meaning it will be thrown somewhere) and catch for the toy? I am obviously not clever enough to add two new words. Lucky for my agility dogs so far I rarely use verbals (because I would obviously use the wrong ones) but I want to do everything I can to help Taq run as fast as she can.

    Happy new year!!

Sorry for the long pause. I had things going on and then was course building for 4 days plus 32 runs!

I had 2 sessions of pivot and threw in some stays for toys.

    I wanted to
Post a picture but could not figure out how! It is convex so I need to add it to me weird footing repertoire!!

Can your puppy offer behavior on a septic tank lid?
