I can try a clip leash/collar but I think she will not like that. I think she want the collar thing off so we could do fun things😂

I will definitely do reward behind.

For this mornings training I wanted to try the seq. First video is a dead toy. She obviously did not find that too rewarding so I got smart and the next two are with the mm. I think we could have done this with a thrown ahead sparkle ball too but I liked what I got with the mm.

Also loved her engagement to the start line etc!

Then I tried the forward focus exercises. I thought these would be useful for UKI

Apparently she and I can only do these on one side!!

Thanks for the positive reinforcement!! We can go back there again with my mom’s dogs in the picture. That will likely be positively stimulating to Taq.

I got home after dark so we did some garage work tonight. I suspected I would not have trouble with leash responses. 95% of the time my dogs are off leash so the leash actually is more likely to mean fun games with mom are coming. So I have a major head start. Taq does not enjoy leash on off much so I reinforced both off and on! I also did the carry the little tank in. There is a theme since of course she also does not enjoy being carried. She is not one who loves touching most of the time.

I worked more on the remote reinforcement and then some more leash work at the end.

Taq had a bought with Hives and Cane into season so we had some recovery days. We did do
Conformation training in a small class and she had no trouble focusing on me and her work. Lots of treats of course.

Today I came to a brand new place ( my folks place to do laundry since my washer broke). So dogs live here that she really likes.

I left my toys at home but my mother is ridiculously organized so easy pivot to new toys. I walked her around the yard, potties her and then she went into a pen while I built. The videos are in order with substantial breaks in between where she had water and a comfy bed in a pen.

I was pretty disappointed that she did not want to run here. I tried to pivot to easier things but still felt like she was dragging. I do have some answers though. I definitely need to get her on the road.

Thanks for the feedback. She is now in season so no seminars for awhile. I did arrange to go to my mother’s yard this weekend. We can do some simple sequences, she has never been there. I was planning on using it for our teeter tour but we are a ways away from that.

I really like your idea of a simple one – lower level than we are. Ooh that gave me an idea 😉

For these reps I left the collar no collar out completely. I wanted to focus on handling properly. I still follow the send to jump 4 with a big arm. 😣

She slipped on the second rep (I could hear it and she was slower zipping through the tunnel). You can see it on the video too. I made she she was not limping and decided to do another to make sure she was ok with the tunnel. She slowed down a bit. Of course it was dry and well anchored. I was extra cautious when I set it up today. She seemed fine on the last rep.

Horrible winds yesterday and today. We found a leash with tugging potential that seemed to work well and did some leash on off, tugging and end of run. I think she might have been happy with the leash on tugging but I still added in cookies.

She generally does not w joy leash on/off so I was happy that I could chose a loose and easy on off collar for her.

I will have to look up the lucky Matt but might be hard to clean in the RV! Taq does very body friendly Chuck-it unlike some of my other dogs she accelerates hard to it but slows way down before she carefully grabs it then runs super fast back to me.

My plan on FEO is a trial in Dec. we will be staying for 3 days. Covered felt with a raised walkway lots of people but novice will be end of day. Practice jump is in the crating area a second arena much quieter. Plan is to play the arousal modulating games like I did day 3 before and use the PRACTICE jump.

Do some vol dial ringside during all the commotion on Friday. Enter JWW sat (evening and will be quieter). And then go back to day 1 stuff on day 3.

    I won’t be doing uki until Jan/feb.

Playing with her and a tug is hard. She wants to bite near my hands. I tried to show you a bit on the video. The place she does not do that is a hollee roller but if I attach something to it she does.

She is very gentle mouthed. You know she takes forever to chew her food etc etc.

So we did 3 things remote food first. She had exposure to this before so we started further along. I did decide my word was going to be reward.

    Toy with toy play

And bad handler. I did a soft turn set up since I had AKC on the brain. Thanks for the feed back on this. This may be the most important things for us!!!🤣

I did revisit find my face 2 times before trying this over the weekend.

Little girl came in season but seems to be working fine. Normally not an issue and I only have intact dogs.

    Trial day 3

Decompression is a priority for me. We do flexi leash walks (lots of them) where the girls can sniff and lead the way and maybe. They always get chews in the RV and I did some one on one Chuck it with Taq so she could move fast. I am not crazy about Chuck it but without it at this venue she could not stretch out and run. This seems to be a daily requirement for Taq. She gets 2-3 opps a day at home.

I did two sets of patterns and volume dial. First pattern she got distracted by distractions very close by- other dogs. I put her in her ringside crate and then took her out close to the ring. I picked a toy that she was not do crazy about and pivoted to food. After this I walked her a cross the grounds to the rv and she was totally with me and ready! I gave her a chew and then did it again a few hours later with better toys. It went so well I took her to the practice jump.

So apologies for all the video!

    Pattern 1 day 3

    Vol dial 1 day 3

    Pattern 2 day 3

Vol 2 day 3 plus practice jump

Today I worked out a plan for the ring. Nice dark tunnel but she was more distracted so I tried to just play.

More commotion ringside, and some interest in hunting for food outside the ring.

We warmed up with the 5 tricks for treats at my rv. Then we crated ringside for 10 mins then warmed up for toy.

Maybe I should not have used treats?

We will have another chance beg of Dec. I door arena with bleachers. Novice should be later in the day.

My plan tomorrow is to do some play sessions ringside. She is not entered tomorrow.

Woohoo!! She was awesome so fun fun! I bought 4 toys and she liked this one the most. I did some trick warmups for toy not food. I did introduce the magic hoodie pocket too. I took advantage of the judge running out to check something. I got greedy maybe on the double. I just wanted her to see one. We have one more tomorrow. Hoping for a tunnel.

Ps hoodie was warm and I am not coordinated.. but we knew that.

Thank you so much for the screen shots and drawing!!! You really helped me understand!

As you predicted when we took our games on the road she was less interested in toy play. She did not care about running dogs or people. She likes to meet dogs and people but can also leave them easily. This videos were 10 mins after arrival. Later we sat ring side and she was still more into the food than the toys. I have an idea for our feo to bring her holler roller on a long bitey tail. Ps I found a food that she goes nuts over- goat cheese.

This weekend there is a local trial so I can take these things on the road and see how she does.

I tried seq 4 and 5 tonight. I am still struggling with her not being as obstacle focused as I would like.

Here is the 5 tricks. I used the toy reward. She is still a slower eater so food works well for some things.

I will try sequencing again in the morning.

Thanks for the tips on my verbals. I find them so challenging. I probably did not use them well on these sequences either. I am so happy with her start lines!

I will take our stuff on the road this weekend. There is not enough daylight in my life right now.

I thought the sit pretty was good core building. But it definitely is not a quick trick. Hind legs she does already!

I will do the 5 trick play session tonight. I also entered her FEO/NFC at a small outdoor AKC trial in a jumpers class. My plan to do some start lines, ring entry and rewards! I am going to bring a holee roller on a fluffy rope. If she seems unsure when we walk in I will ask for some spins. If she is not comfortable we will just play in the ring. Writing it down to keep me honest. The good news is that I can’t cheat since she does not have any idea what weave poles are. My competitive juices will have to stay dormant.

    Here is seq 3
This went fine with the rear but no way with the blind. I ran the seq with her mom
And put the blind between 3 and 4 by mistake and it worked well. Maybe I had the course set.
    Full bloopers!

Seq 4- I did a late front (my specialty in stead of a blind) Double Oops! I was a line dancer growing up and I just default to matching the timing- I need to lead!

Ok here are more back and forth and tricks

    Seq 1

    Seq 2

I also am working on a few other tricks. Sit pretty??…

YOu are brilliant by the way. Cricket and I trialed on Sunday (toller national was not enough so I drove 5 hours south for agility) and Hairy Barky ran 4-5 dogs before us while we were at set up. Cricket immediately got STIMULATED, tail all a quiver, inner terror coming out, and I did back and forth pattern with cookies. It took exactly 2 cookies and she was 100% at a perfect state! She has an adorable little dial.

Front cross exercise and a toy for the mat. The best mat work was when she had a ball in her mouth…
