ParticipantDistance was a little challenging. I found I had to be a certain distance from the wing for her to figure out it was in play. Tunnel not so much. We also did the teeter.

ParticipantOk here is the one step. We knew she was going to be fine with this right? I was trying to focus on my commitment to her!
She worked nicely for her toy- Taq says thanks mom for not trying to hide my food in the grass!

ParticipantOk redo with cheese. Conclusion Taq is a slow eaterā¦
I did not edit.

ParticipantPoor Taq- I have been away a lot and then I got COVID. She has been trying so hard to get me to train! Knowing I would be sloppy I practiced before I brought her out and still had treats that were taking to long to eat and was holding my hands up! I switched to smaller treats easy to eat hard to find. Arrgh
We did get into some legit starting contests. I was not sure what I was doing wrong in those.
Thanks for your help!dlbannasch

Puppy did not get to go to the trial but next year! At this trial they keep an open ring for training. What a great puppy op. I will try another starfish this week I hope. I head out of the country Thursday for a week. You mentioned an A frame training method for littles. I tried the box method for my 25 pounder and it worked fine but really did not work for my 12 pounder. Is there somewhere you can point me to a successful method for a little?

ParticipantI have been not recording the starfish for a couple of days!!! Today the camera flipped upside down RRzghh.
So I did more reps. I was not connecting well and she wanted the toy in my hand but some parts worked I will try tomorrow morning before we leave for a trial!

ParticipantOops forgot to post!
Lateral lead outs!

ParticipantTried to do jump grid correctly today!

ParticipantTracy- oh gosh yes I am so bad.š¢
I did take lots of play breaks but you are so right too much for little T.Today I was an excellent student.
Obviously I did not break her and she was fabulous!!On the grid. I changed to little blue balls so she would have better forward focus after the first rep. I maybe should try manners minder. What do you think of the distance? 3.5 feet.
I gave myself a click and treat for following instructions this time.

ParticipantIt is such a mix of connection and blind faith that it is a challenge. Plus while I wanted her speed and enthusiasm that also makes things challenging.
We tried the lateral lead out tonight. Our biggest issue here was reward conflict. Since it required solid stays and I wanted a particular line up I added food and then she spent a few reps trying to explain to me that she would like the treats please and thank you not the toy. Duh. Then she got the lateral part well.
When I come back to this I will just use food. I was not sure if I was late. Plus maybe I was sending at jump more than take off???
dlbannasch
ParticipantBackside slice sends were fun. I did not submit but she did take off and grab all obstacles! She was playing well and staying well.

Tried the tunnel threadle this evening.
She spent the day at a trial and did some nice sit stays, greeted lots of people and practiced being a perfect puppy.
I put up the wrong arm once but she definitely remember this move!

Get out is a work in progressā¦
I was pretty happy with the transition exercise! For the lap turns she seemed fine with them for food. Lastly I threw in an awesome rear!
