I am having some trouble with the tunnel turns. Taq does not know left and right. Is this how you teach it?

Here is our attempt now that she wants to play

I took Taq to the trial on Sunday and she was herself. Greeted everyone, liked some folks more than others, not bothered by the trial or dogs, played nicely with a younger puppy, greater the veterans with respect. Crated well etc. did not really want to play with toys and was mellow.

So I thought about our life changes and decided it had to do with me leaving her with playmates all day long. Light switch back to my engaged puppy.

The first test was switching between toys to tug and she was great then I did food to toys and she was great.

So I am going to split her days so she can play in the evening but not during the day.

Here is our first bug. I did not have time to pull out a second tunnel.

The tunnel was clean and dry🤷‍♀️

But her outgoing brother was less outgoing today at an agility trial. So we may be in a stage.

I moved to set point with moving target. I used cookies on rep 2 to help her get comfortable close to the bar and she wanted to engage with the toy less but I did get her to engage. Then we took a break I work on tricks with cookies, then played fetch then came back to it. She was ok setting close to the bar with no cookies but a few times she was watching me more than the moving toy.

She seems o real less e gaged with toys and more interested in food. We are transitioning to eating with all the dogs so she is eating less. Also she is more integrated into the house so less alone time.

This did not go well. Watching the video back maybe I was too loud on the go but she got very confused and I should have stopped the session in stead of trying different toys. She is post heat so maybe more sensitive?

How can I help her be successful?

Ok tried this again! When I did the cookie collar she stopped working for the toy and got stickier. So these attempts were with a toy and maybe not all the noises before hand. I also changed my words 🤪

Tried to be closer and use her verbals before sends on the discriminations. She was in sleepy mode and still found it challenging with out my step towards the entrance. Did smile and I tried to be better connected. She seemed happy!

Ok I tried to throw before she took off on the wind exercise and then we played with smile! Such fun.

Thank you for the feedback. I moved the jumps closer by 6 inches. I also switched from the bump to the bar on the first jump to help her sit closer. Feeling like I should try them closer still. Also I thought I would try the still toy. She was certainly focused on it! We both loved the wind in our hair. She is taking off early here too though. This is me being calm about my amazing fast puppy who jumps ugly.

Ok so here are 2 games. These were mid morning which is her sleepy not overly amped time. That helped me with the stays! She still broke once but was pretty good. Her jumping scares me…. But then again her mom jumps worse and never knocks bars.

Thanks for the feed back. If I get back from work during daylight we will feel the wind. I suspect Taq will love that one!

I took a few days to focus on stays and other calm behaviors 😉

When does max puppy 2 start?

Between each rep puppy got a throw back and there was only 1 break!!! We did play, hike, play some all before our training session.

So many things freaked me out here. The early take offs😬😬😬😬😬

Then when we switched sides she could not go forward. I moved the Cato board closer and through early which is probably what screwed up her take off point before.

We had some stay challenges and I did reinforce back to her tons in between. The site of the barrel is enough to send her to upper states of arousal. I guess that gives me some homework.

Tracy- LOL at fading the MM. Indeed It would be hard to carry on the flight! I introduced a toy reward last night. Ready to fade the MM as well. I posted on the DSF club facebook and someone asked what else the magic box could do! So many things…
