    Trial Day Routine

The night before I figure out what I will need and get the van packed. I looked at the start time and running order to see when I need to be there for walking. I will also add time for setup but that varies by organization, indoor/outdoor, trial secretary or not, etc.

I try to find the quietest spot and against a wall to crate. Depending on the trial environment and org I will often crate out of my car.

Eating right could use some work. Although, many trials here have a variety of pretty healthy options. Water is another area that I have alot of room for improvement.

I warm up while I’m warming up my dog. But it’s mostly walking around for warm ups and cool downs. I have her do some spins and backing up and stretching front feet on things or play bows.

For quiet time I’ll hang out in my van while we wait our turn. Or I’ll take my dog for a walk. I find if I sit inside and try to read of listen to podcasts or watch a show that I get talked to alot. Not necessarily a bad thing but I know that if I want to be undisturbed that I have to leave the building.

I try to stay positive and not make negative comments about the courses or how things are running, etc. If I’m unhappy with a run I’ll go for a walk until I can let the negative emotion go and refocus in a more positive productive way.

So I feel like I’m doing pretty well expect for the whole sleep enough, eat well, and drink water thing. 🙂
