Here is jumping course 1 – we could not get past 14. I tried to push on the first one but backside slices are super hard for her. So then I tried pulling but we don’t have that skill.
Also, not sure if it’s possible to make 2 more fluid for her of if the collection is good and she’s being safe. Slices are hard.

Here are our redos of the ‘right’ vs ‘go’. I worked on it by breaking it down with cheese then a toy and back chained it at add in speed. Here are the full sequences again. Much better. Should we move on to doing the full courses now? Start with Jumping?

We played with the skills sequences tonight. (Saphira even did the first sequence forwards and backwards. Not in the video.) Mazi has good go and tunnel but not so much right. But I’m sure I screwed up the handling and didn’t help her out. I got the last sequence but then wanted to try to get a tighter turn. On the next one she knocked the wing over but once we were done I saw her Seresto collar pulled apart on the ground so she must have gotten it caught on the jump cups. We did 16″.

Thank you so much for all of your help! We are finally making progress! She’s starting to look like an agility dog.

We went back to the scene of the crimes. I just worked on transitions from tug to wing. She’s slow but she stayed with me. I also blocked off other areas better and was surprised she didn’t knock the fences over to get to go exploring. I blocked off the door too with an accordion gate and she totally respected it. It was locked too just in case.
I brought her in later for another session after working Mazi. We were good until dogs started coming in for a class on the other side of the wall and they were barking like crazy. Saphira started freaking out and tried to get through the doors to get to the party happening without her on the other side. She’s so smart that she was even pounding on the doors that we never use. But I had a tug on a leash and got her to chase it and got her back with me and eventually she stayed with me with just food (turkey meat) even with the barking. It was super messy but we worked through it and it turned out to be a huge win. Puppies are HARD!
So just wanted to post an update since it’s been awhile. Still super crappy cold, windy, snowy weather here.

Engagement is hard for her everywhere. LOL

I guess I expect her to bring the toy back to me but I should know by know that it magically isn’t going to happen. I’ll work more on that. I’ll see if I can find a way to make a long toy for that game too. And really she’s not going very fast so if I just walk straight and close to the wing then I should be able to get her over it and be able to reward without it getting wrapped around things.

OK I will try those things for the parallel path game too. I feel like she’s not loving the collar grabs either so I’ll put more value into those too.

Thursday I rented space at OTR so we worked on set point with more room, WIYH, and the smile game. We do puppy class in this room with Shenna too. I put her up in the van between SP/WIYH and Smile while I setup the tunnel. I totally intended to use all of the tunnel bags but then it looks like I forgot! I’m losing my mind already! Anyways, on the way in for the second round we saw 2 dogs outside and I talked to the owner for a few minutes. Not even any playing. Well after the first thing I did with her she did it then ran to the door and jumped on it and it opened and she ran off to find the dogs. So then I locked the door but she still would do something and run off to bang on the door again. So I wasn’t able to get 2 wraps in. But she loves the tunnel I guess. LOL I feel good about Set Point at least.

We got some stuff setup outside the other day. Outside is hard! She found a ball outside that she liked so I tried to use it to my advantage. I cut out all her running away and ignoring me parts.

At the beginning of the session I tried to do WIYH but she just ran off. So at the end I just did some parallel path game with food. I think I need different food for throwing outside so next time I’ll use string cheese.

    Thank you!
Quicky question – what word do you use for your tunnel bypass cue?

Thank you for all of the great feedback!
We did some set point quick tonight. I was having some issues with her staying. I’m not sure if you can hear me reminding myself that puppies need HARD connection when you lead out. (I forget EVERYTHING in the 5 years between puppies.) That magically fixed the problem. Funny how that works. Bumps are about 6′ apart. We did them on the other side first but I was blocking the camera so switched to this side. Much better with biting. I marked her with “cookies” when she was tugging well.
I’m really glad that there are Contraband videos in this class. He seems like he was a slower maturing puppy too. Like he’s not very fast when he was a puppy doing inside things but then later he’s super fast when he’s older and outside.
I’m wrapping up a crazy work schedule the last few weeks with 12 hour on call days this week. So next week I’ll finally have time to rent space at OTR and/or the snow will be melted enough to work outside since we’re high 40s low 50s this week. I think she’ll really enjoy opening up more.

‘Yes’ is engrained in me soooooo deeply! I use a bunch of other marker words but when I’m not on my game then yes is the default to come out of my mouth.
Here is some Wind In Our Hair fun. My wings are in the baby shed across the property held in by snow and probably ice. Hopefully a few can be released this week. Oh I do have some in the sheep barn. Duh! I’ll dig them out!
So many rules that I forgot today.
    1) Use thrown toy marker. I went from ‘yes’ to ‘get it’ and it should have been ‘zoom’. ‘Get it’ is my thrown food marker.
    2) Toy in off hand seemed to help but I forgot most times.
    3) Hold hands lower when asking for tug – up seems to mean jump on me (and apparently bite me).
    4) When she spits toy to bite me don’t pick it up – make her pick it up and bring it to me.
But she loved the game and caught on fast and didn’t even care when she knocked the can over. And she brought the toy back to me and didn’t run off to hoard it somewhere.

Here are our wrap verbals and moving targets
She was loving the wrap verbal exercise – easy peasy
When I did the moving target exercises on the end of the livingroom that we don’t usually work on (camera location) she got really sticky. But when I did them on the usual side then she did great. I worked both sides too.

    Concept Transfer: Rotated Sends
Not the best camera placement but proof that we’re doing it 🙂

We’re still poking along. We worked on some tight turns tonight. It’s not great but it’s a start and she didn’t leave. LOL

Thoughts on our rear crosses to The Thing? I cut out treat reloads

What skills should we have for the next class? If we do a working spot and we’re behind can we post exercises from this class still?
