Somehow I have fallen like 3 weeks behind!!!

    Here’s our collection head turn

And our backside slice. I need to get some sticky stuff for the bumps. First time really using them and I don’t want them to move like they did!

I do find habits are forming so dog on right she almost goes to set up knowing I’ll be taking her collar. I think that will be ok. I don’t foresee any issues with the routine and she likes it.

I will work on building the skills to get better distance based on your suggestions and I’ll try to get thr frisbee in the right spot. I was thinking so hard bc of the stay that is living on the edge and the toy control and then my feet …

Secretly had hoped you did comment as many near me need to hear it. LOL Especially those with big dogs getting ready to pit them in the ring at 15 months which means they did all the training things before they was done growing!!!!

Continue to build on our rocking horses: I had some bobbles along the way lol

    Beginning threadles.

We took a short break and had x rays done because I’ve had some concerns about her rear end development. All good but she is still growing and will be for a while!

Props question: I’m getting no where lol. It’s the counter motion and if I toss food she just starts running forward. Can I put a cookie on it like 2 times? Even I hate doing that but I have not attempted any prop stuff beyond sends and a few parallel lines.

Initially I moved away and did some pattern games and she regrouped fairly quick. The person was continuing to encourage her which was making me need pattern games lol. Julee left me to go run and jump off her basically so I didn’t bring her to the person per se when she started to let the hackles down.

It’s on record big time bc I don’t want that nonsense back in my life lol!

And yes I had no food on me for Chata. I showed her where her cookies were and we left them to do some tricks and cues back to get her food.

So I had the opportunity for both dogs to work some of this. Julee with a new person and then Chata doing the remote reinforcement with just some tricks and the person…. Julee lost it. Like the person she hasn’t seen since a puppy and before we even thought about training she was on full stranger danger mode. She did recover and then was bouncing all over the person but it was conflicting not I adore you human. So I waited to attempt working her. I did eventually try some short cookie recalls as far from the person as I could and she was good. One look when the person spoke. The person was very sweet but didn’t take directions well to just exist so I had to be on like I never have before. Julee was successful. Tugging was good. Session was super super short and I’ll prob let this sit for a bit until I determine what’s going on in the bc brain this week.

Chata threw me bc the session was high high success. Good foods she was offering the tricks and wanting to do stuff. Kept it to 4 reps but she did take off to pick pocket the human on the third. ( forth rep was just a recover super easy rep). The person had walked toward us so their movement made her leave. Anyway just sharing that Chata moment and I’ll keep working her and maybe try the cookie recalls too

We did our self control slice correctly this week using cookie recalls. Other than her tugging harder she did fine from what I could gather.

Practicing more of our rocking horse! I didn’t edit her cued moment to play on her own. She was getting into some trouble chewing the turf …

Remote reinforcement we started this at home and did some review of it before moving on. A little unfair to her Chata was in a crate eating PB

    Cool!

Here’s are threadle wraps. Julee turns really well so just a matter of mechanics as I walk sideways. lol.

Ok I remember asking for some hand touches and I got bites lol.

She had a nice break. Basically Lindsey and I went back and forth. Since only Lindsey was there it was harder for me and Julee bc Lindsey is like a Border collie and she didn’t have anyone to distract her.

So I wanted to get Julee barrels
Done and well… I’ll leave you video one and then we took a break and I came back with a new plan. So I’ll leave it all for you to help me weed through all of it because it was “the best worst training ever”.

Ps- I think I need to start with wraps to the left first bc I don’t do them enough as it is and if I start with the easier side she just wants to do that side and its causing the same errors.

I recently put together a small group for julee and Chata. Bc I only train alone and no classes it has been a huge detriment to them.
I wanted to do my fold in games with the recap but , honestly julee massive love for humans I thought maybe just tugging with some hand touches dispersed would be easier. I did break out pattern games to regulate a bit with the tugging bc she tugged wildly since I think it was so hard to focus. Is that reasonable?

Our first session didn’t get recorded but that’s ok because this one was even better! I’ve been rotating julee and Chata so they have good rest breaks.

You’ll see/hear me discuss the nip at my shirt before we started. Clearly this game has become an exciting one lol! I did add a jump on the go. This isn’t new to her.

She’s really trying to sort out the “get it” cue. This video doesn’t show it but our first round when I yelled go and the. Get it- she looked around for her cookie… no idea how this happened. But makes sort of sense since we have been working impulse on toys she may just be confused. She got over it fast 🙂

Sniffy moments were dropped treats. Had the worst crumbly ones to manage the resets.

Most proud is this is a high value toy and she’s not running off!!!

    Thanks!

I really don’t do much of the before. And only when it’s just her and I and no people there. I do more of the go for a run when we are done.

Generally I haven’t seen any issues with the getting back to work or just not re engaging so I’ll assume for now it’s helping and I’ll keep watching!

Question on the decompression and completing the stress cycle.
1: how do we know when they are done if we send off for a run? With Chata I wait until she comes to me bc I may jump the gun and then I accidentally interrupted it.
2- how do I know if I’m cuing go for a run as a take a moment or it’s just considered a “play break/training break”

And then my brain swirls …I’ve been lucky with julee. she doesn’t necessarily take her moments – occasionally we get that jumping up: is that frustration for her making a mistake ( and me trying to adjust but she still knows it’s wrong answer) or her taking a moment? I have noted her once in a while leave to sniff especially after too many cookie toss so I see that as a taking a moment yes?

Also For Julee: I started teaching the on off switch for obedience. Wasn’t sure how felt about it but it’s something kamal teaches to help in the venue. I do think Julee knows it bc when we go to train she tootles around until I say ready steady and then it is game on. She’s alert ready and focused. When we are done training: I don’t know if I’m cuing what you consider the moment: I use her “all done” cue which means she can go sniff, run about, grab a frisbee, go for a run etc but we are done training. I may go back to training after a few minutes but she either has a crate break a cookie break or a petting break ( she absolutely loves to be touched. Weird Border collie )

I’m Allie worried about the ready dance: that causes her to nip my shirt. Which is why I went to cookie ….
