Ok giving the Mat a rest! These are the forward sends. First one was bad but the. She was great. We also tried the counter motion – I clearly never walk with my dog not leaping on me! I released on get the toy plus others cues should I clean this up? They were all release cues.

Please turn down the vol – mad mom in background. We had 5 mins to train at 100 degrees before sunset so mom was not happy about not being chose.

Ok so I continued moving until she jumped and the rears after that worked great! Yeah!

We did more mat work. I tucked the mm behind the wing. She was loping and a bit hoppy.

    Tracy!!!

Ok awesome sauce put things in perspective!!! Thank you for that. Your mixie is obviously part kangaroo!

I tried the rear. Omg show me how I screwed up? I was proud of myself on this. She opted in for each rep and I stopped before she opted out.

The mat lesson was so “do what tracy says first… “ excited to have the wing there next time.

    Tracy-

Thank you for the detailed feedback. I just have such a hard time doing it while running. Cricket figured out what I meant but I really want to improve my communication skills. I may record some running without Taq first.

I moved to things that would be more successful!

We had a really good mat session last night. This one seemed to confuse her a bit. The hopping terrifies me since her mother had had her dog walk retrained 5 times and I hope to not repeat these mistakes.

I forgot add – thank you for your amazing support and feedback!!!!

And Taq turned 1 year old! Can’t believe we started max puppy at 11 weeks. So many things!!! I never thought we would master the start line!!

    Tracy-

I hope your holiday was excellent!

I definitely want to do running contacts with her. I was nervous about raising the board for that reason.

What next steps should I do? She has some mat introduction.

It has been ungodly hot but hoping to get some training in.

Ok well we ran the seq with blinds I was pretty happy but rears?? Suck! I even had a hard time doing this with cricket so obviously or I set it wrong. Hate rears. Want to love them..

I did not do so well the next rounds. It was getting warm so I will try again when the heat is decreasing!

Teeter is a work in progress!

Oh my gosh- so proud of my connection!!!

Can’t wait to do more crosses. These were at 15’ so I assume I should move stuff out to 20’

Distance was a little challenging. I found I had to be a certain distance from the wing for her to figure out it was in play. Tunnel not so much. We also did the teeter.

Ok here is the one step. We knew she was going to be fine with this right? I was trying to focus on my commitment to her!

She worked nicely for her toy- Taq says thanks mom for not trying to hide my food in the grass!

Poor Taq- I have been away a lot and then I got COVID. She has been trying so hard to get me to train! Knowing I would be sloppy I practiced before I brought her out and still had treats that were taking to long to eat and was holding my hands up! I switched to smaller treats easy to eat hard to find. Arrgh

We did get into some legit starting contests. I was not sure what I was doing wrong in those.

    Thanks for your help!

Puppy did not get to go to the trial but next year! At this trial they keep an open ring for training. What a great puppy op. I will try another starfish this week I hope. I head out of the country Thursday for a week. You mentioned an A frame training method for littles. I tried the box method for my 25 pounder and it worked fine but really did not work for my 12 pounder. Is there somewhere you can point me to a successful method for a little?

I have been not recording the starfish for a couple of days!!! Today the camera flipped upside down RRzghh.

So I did more reps. I was not connecting well and she wanted the toy in my hand but some parts worked I will try tomorrow morning before we leave for a trial!
