ParticipantHi Tracy!
Mae and I went to the barn to practice the RYG challenges for this week. The first part of the video where she does 1b is actually supposed to be 1a, I left it in like that because we had a hard time getting that and was hoping for suggestions. I did break it down for her before we filmed and we did fine but when we put it together it got sketchy lol. The last video of sequence 2 I think I was pretty late with the wrap part because I got really excited that I did a blind and forgot to keep doing stuff! She was a good girl and saved me.
I really liked these sequences!Kris Hart
ParticipantHi Tracy!
So Wednesday we tried the jumpers pop outs from the third package. We were both still pretty tired from the trial weekend and I think it shows. I set the RYG up at the barn and I will hopefully get to those this weekend. I couldn’t figure out a good way to do that turn at 6.Kris Hart
ParticipantHi Tracy!
I brought Huck to the barn to work on the week 2 games today! He is so much fun! He just loves all things! Predictably, I struggled on the blind cross portion but I tried to makes sure he kept having fun regardless of me being wrong.

ParticipantUgh yes I am the same as you! People pleaser since I was young and hate confrontation. I will try to make some safe boundaries for myself because agility is really starting to lose all the fun for me and I only do it for fun. I want to do well of course because that’s more fun lol but I like to laugh and eat and make people laugh while I’m there. I’ll try some practicing to Winn and Mae and Huck lol. I always tell them all the hard stuff anyway.

ParticipantMorning Tracy!
I had a question about the consider the source section and accidentally put it in the comments of that part instead of here. Sorry about that.Kris Hart
ParticipantHi Tracy,
So ran the jwws sequence today. Pretty bummed out it was basically just a mess. I broke it into 1-10 and then 10-19 but we couldn’t get that right either. Not thinking this is something we are very good at. We’ve been doing pretty crummy for this whole package.Kris Hart
ParticipantHi Tracy!
Ok that sounds good! I didn’t know on that first package we could go to the take off side to set up the rear cross better. I will try that at the barn maybe.
Today I practiced the agility course pop outs. They were tricky! I only ran them a couple times because I didn’t want her to get too hot and tired. I couldn’t figure out that last one at all lol. Were we supposed to end to that one backside behind the tunnel and layer to 7?
I also couldn’t figure out the first sequence how to get the backside of 5. We kind of collided lol.
She worked really hard on all of this though I think!
Kris Hart
ParticipantStill struggling with that part but I’ll keep trying.
How do you keep your mind from racing when you try to do the mindfulness stuff? I can’t get my head to be quiet lol.Kris Hart
ParticipantHi Tracy!
We practiced the RYG challenges. I struggled a little bit lol. I couldn’t get a good feel for how to do the RC and turn her back around the jump and out. I was in her way every time. In package 2 she was convinced it was more efficient to jump over the tunnel and then go in it so I’m not sure what was happening there exactly! But I did think she went out for me really nicely. Thanks!Kris Hart
ParticipantHi Tracy!
I took Huck to SOTC for a change of venue and was really happy with his focus! Playing games like you suggested before working is really making a difference! No toy play in strange locations yet though.
I tried to make the teeter so it wouldn’t move and I did a terrible job. He seemed fine with the whole thing but when I watched the video back it was just scary.Kris Hart
ParticipantMorning!
Been practicing the kind words for other people challenge. I find it so easy to find nice things to say to someone else about all sorts of different stuff. But not so much for me. I always tell me exactly what I did wrong or what could have been better. Or that I shouldn’t even be trying to do xyz. That part is really hard so far.Kris Hart
ParticipantHi Tracy!
Thank you! So we went to FF and practiced the standard course with the jumps at 20 and the promise to try and handle as best as I could and she got it!!! I always post our first try even when they suck so it is fun to post one where we didn’t do bad for a change!!! Didn’t worry about the bars and they didn’t fall lol!Kris Hart
ParticipantHi!
Thank you for all your insights. I feel so bad for her when I go back and watch it with the things in place that you tell me to watch for ugh!!!! I never mean to do that to her. I knew I was too tired to do a good job that session.I will put her to 20 for training. Do you think she would still be able to compete at 24 if I do that? I’ve been told that if she practices at 20 she will become lazy about keeping her feet up?
When you said to stay near the backside wing to avoid the tunnel, do you mean the one closest to the next jump? Or the following obstacle? I wasn’t sure how to handle that part.
Thanks! Standard course up tomorrow !Kris Hart
ParticipantHi Tracy!
We started work on the RYG challenges today. Donna helped me remember to stay connected which helped with the bars on sequence two. Once we got the tunnel back, we had a really hard time staying out of it lol! On the third sequence I broke it down to just the two jumps and the tunnel but she was still going for it. Then on the last sequence we were both tired and I shoulda quit. It was one thing after the other lol. The thing I struggled with the most and finally gave up was backside 7. She slices it and lands almost in the tunnel lol. Even the lotus ball wouldn’t convince her otherwise. Is there a way to get her to round the wing a little softer so she is looking more at me?Kris Hart
ParticipantThank you!!!!
It’s amazing how much better I felt just writing all that stuff down and having someone I admire kinda validate that there is a long list there. I can’t explain it but it just made it feel
More manageable!!!
And the idea that I can just do fun stuff for training or sneak in little bits and it’ll still help makes me so much less worried about them! That constant feeling of being behind is subsiding a little bit. This course that I thought would be one more pressure thing to check off on my list is becoming my favorite part of the day! Thank you for offering this course! -
