ParticipantWe did some more of the exercises tonight. Hopefully I incorporated your suggestions. It’s so much to think about and do quickly!
On the oops I just rewarded her. I’ll try to remember to do something with motion like you suggested and then tug for future.
Puppies are doing great! Mazi and I are figuring things out for her. It’s going better than last time. We learned alot the first time around! Still trying to get her system regulated. She finally started eating good today.
I’m glad we have a break week to get caught up!

ParticipantThank you! Yes, keeping very busy and it’s only going to get worse as they keep growing and getting more mobile. I’m really enjoying them. Mostly trying to get Mazi regulated. Pregnancy, birthing, and nursing does a number on the body!
We struggled a bit on this one but then figured it out. We did this last night so I hadn’t read your reply to the last homework. Next session I’ll run and let her run through the toy instead of throwing it.

ParticipantPuppies were born on Saturday! We are settling into the new routine. Saphira has been so patient and respectful. We got out to play some agility last night. Here is some tunnel to wing and then some Tight Blinds To Wraps 2-Ways. The print outs in my book seem to be in a different order.

Heather Sather. Reason: wrong exercise name

ParticipantHere she is at 14″. She did awesome. My wraps still suck. LOL It’s hard with so much distance.
I need to plan my session better – verbals and markers and my path! But she had fun. She did great on the race tracks and I felt like was was able to move away from the wings.
I’m thinking I’ll try to do some more tomorrow and then move on to the week 4 games?
Thank you! I’m excited to meet the babies!
Heather Sather
ParticipantI did some at 14″ yesterday but forgot to move the camera so it’s not worth posting but she did great. ๐
Here is some counter motion. She really likes these.
Here is 1 rep of doing 2 in a row. I forgot it was only 1 rep – I should have left it with the other video.
We finally have cool weather for a few days. But we found out Mazi is having 9 puppies this weekend and not 5 like they saw on ultrasound. Hopefully we’ll have time for training but we’ll see… IT will be nice having these quick games to play.

ParticipantThank you! Lots of great tips. I did the full version yesterday before I got feedback so I might have not incorporated the changes yet.
Yes, I should probably look at purchasing a wobble board. I have a little one that people stand on but not a bigger one that a puppy could fully stand on. They just had a doggy rummage sale the other day too and someone was selling them. I might have to see if I can find out who that was.
Heather Sather
ParticipantThanks for all of the great information! I got busy with puppy preparations but we are looking good and got out and did some training today.
We’ve been randomly crating more and that is going well.
So in IGP we do the motion exercises (sit, down, stand) out of heeling. We haven’t started them much but this is all we have so I figured I’d show you.
Contacts Foundation: Motion Override
For Concept Transfer: Straight Lines, Four Ways I spread the jumps out to 25′. Maybe that wasn’t a good idea and you meant for the sequences last week? Should I start the closer and then move them out further. She did like it alot. She was running more but she seemed to have more questions between the 2 jumps – I cued the verbal when her feet landed so maybe it was too soon or I wasn’t ahead enough. But otherwise it was a great session with her tugging and bringing the toy back and staying engaged the whole time.
2 Jumps
Tunnel to 2 Jumps
I quit there. I’ll do some of the whole sequence tomorrow. I think I was not driving up on the backsides and probably pushing too far over. And I was naughty and did a fix but it was loopy so not as demotivating. ๐ And I plan to setup the Winginโ It: Countermotion Commitment! one too.
For Teeter Foundations: Love The Slam And Hind End Combo! – she does have a teeter already. It could be faster (which will come I think) but she doesn’t care about the noise at all. I do not have a wobble board but she was on a few when she was young. Should I just skip that game?
Enjoy your day off!

ParticipantSaphira turned 2 years old yesterday!!!
I have put Mazi in the van in the garage when it was cooler out but then Saphira started not going in the garage to get into the van when it was time to go. She was like no we train now. I will put them both in the van and go to the park and work on obedience. It’s ok if I cover Mazi so she can’t see and keep the van closed. So today I put Mazi in her crate in the house. She knew as soon as I didn’t put Saphira in that I was going to be working Saphira. She can’t see outside since the lower part of the sliding doors has film on it covering their view. Next time I’ll add a radio / Alexa music. So for this and for working Saphira it should work fine. When roles switch I think Saphira will quit going in her crate. We’ll see. Either way I need to just do something and work through it. ๐ Tonight was a good start. Karl can go upstairs and put his headphones on.
She did really good tonight and didn’t even think about the deer. I’ll interrupt her if she’s looking for them in the house. We have film on some windows but not the big livingroom one.
I’ve been using a variety of food. I’m not sure what is higher value for her. We use kibble in the house, outside I’ll use string cheese alot since it’s easy to throw and see, for tracking we use Fresh Pet or Lucy’s / Red Barn. For toy’s she seems to enjoy chasing me for the toy. I’m also playing toy games inbetween reps ie throwing the toy for her to bring back or letting her win and backing up so she can bring it to my and punch me if she wants. I’m trying to use toys I can dangle more for her to chase. For obedience I have little baca pillow things that she likes. She also likes her ‘lotus’ balls. Getting her arousal up with toys seems to help and also doing more reps so she understands the exercise and gets more confidence and clarity. Also, she seems to really enjoy running through tunnels. She’ll do them on her own when she’s zooming around or when Mazi is chasing her. Seems to be a great reward for do the hard thing then open up and run through a tunnel. Oh and flirt pole.
Here are some reps from tonight. It’s cooler today – 70 but very humid. Bits of rain off and on and some sun thrown in here and there. It hadn’t rained for awhile so I wasn’t worried about slipping.
Concept Transfer: Send And Go, and BC to the Tunnel – all mistakes were the human FC/BC same diff LOL
Bonus Rear Crosses! – hopefully I did these right. Should I be using a verbal on the turn? Her wrap cue?

ParticipantThank you for all of this!
I did notice that time she looked right at Mazi and wondered about that. I’ll see what I can do. I worry about poisoning crates in the house. Or developing new habits/patterns of not going in. She’s too damn smart. And they are so good right now. I’ll think on it a bit and come up with a plan. We’ll be going to 3 soon so it’s all going to have to change anyways. Seems easier to leave 2 in the house and go work one vs one gets worked and one doesn’t. I just need to make a plan and do it and go from there. ๐ The girls will be separated for a few weeks when Mazi’s puppies are little too.
The other distraction is deer. I think she chased one out of the pasture the other day and a few (maybe babies) hung out in the back field for a week or so. She looks out the livingroom window for them too. Deer send her into orbit but she comes back pretty fast. They walk along the area at the top of the screen and on the other side of the drainage ditch on the right on the other side of the trees. Hopefully it’ll fade as time goes and they haven’t come back. Thank goodness for the fence Karl put in 2 years ago! Also, it was 90. I’ll try to train later in the day or early and just keep all these things in mind in general until her speed and enthusiasm are built up more.
This really helped me see the importance. I probably ask too much from my curious independent puppy and have for most of her life.
“I think having her mom barking in the background is really hard, in terms of processing โ the brain has to devote a LOT of bandwidth to deal with being barked at and still process cues. Basically the barking activates the alar m in her brain, so then her brain has to actively try to de-prioritize that while also trying to follow you cues.”I would LOVE to get her going faster and be more passionate about things. A trainer recently commented that she does things but she’s not physically putting herself into it. We’ve also struggled with reinforcement as you might remember. The world is a wonderful place in her mind with so much to explore and discover. It has gotten a ton better though. I’ve worked hard. I see moments of crazy so I know it’s in there.
Keeping jumps low and working on speed works for me. I’m in no rush with her. She’s on her own timeline. No jump grids for now.

ParticipantI’ll do some more mountain climber with her tonight like you suggested. I think that will help alot.
She’s not fast but she jumps 20″ well. Nancy says she’s a nice jumper. Yeah, part of it is probably my dragging my feet to 24″ since it is a hard jump height. I put her to 12″ for the lazy game. It was at 10″. I’ll do some grids to work her up to 24″ in the mean time.
Here is The Lazy Game Parts 2 and 3 More Action
Here is Timing And Connection Game
Here is Contacts Foundation: Plank Confidence 1 with angles and even a turn around at the beginning
Heather Sather
ParticipantI put the dogwalk plank on some tunnel bags and ran with her back and forth. Easy peasy!
We did more of the lazy game and I had better connection after she ate the treat. Just one miss of the jump. I had moved the middle jump out and then in the middle of this video I moved it out again. And we were able to do 2 jumps then a treat.
Mountain climber was an issue. We had an equipment failure since I moved it to avoid the sun and it was on a bit of uneven ground and she had a bit of a fall while turning around when the teeter moved. She’s pretty resilient. We struggled with the reward of the cheese on the end. I use ‘cheese’ to feed her cheese when she’s in a muzzle and we’re doing LAT on her station in the livingroom and working with the cats. So I think she thought I was bringing it to her. She had trouble driving ahead of me. So I think this is a good game for us to practice so she can get better at it. This video is after I moved the teeter and did a better job making sure it was stable.
Her competition jump height is 24″. In classes I’ve only worked her at 20″. What height do you think I should be putting the bars at for the games that use jumps? For the lazy game I have them at 10″. She’ll be 2 years old on Saturday.
Heather Sather
ParticipantYay! I’ll move the top jump out and give it a go with better connection after she eats the cookie.

ParticipantWe’re excited to get started!
Here is our Concept Transfer: The Lazy Game – beginning and end of session
Heather Sather
ParticipantI redid Live 1 sequence 2 and also did 3. The backside serps are hard for me so it was good practice.
I built the next course too so hopefully I’ll get some more run tomorrow.Heather Sather
ParticipantFinally it’s cooled off some. Here are some exercises from the first Live. We did 1a, 1b, and then gave 2 a go. But now that I’m looking at the video I did it totally wrong. LOL I’ll try it from the other (proper) side tomorrow.
