    Morning Tracy!
So this weekend I worked sequence 2 and 3. The video is a compilation of both of them taped as a baseline with the exception of trying two different openings on sequence 3. I wanted to have you look at these before I trained and taped again because honestly the only mistakes I found were mine! In sequence three the first time I didn’t show her 5 as a backside(but I remembered to keep running) and in sequence three both times I kept forgetting that FC before 9! I did notice she seemed very slow our first run but I am not sure why.
Thanks! Let me know what ya think!

    Hi Tracy!
I love how you explain things lololol! I completely understand “talk less, smile more”. I immediately had to listen to that soundtrack after I read this! I brought Mae to SOTC with me today so we worked on the counter motion thing a little. I think my position was wrong a few times but she did pretty good! And I was really happy with all her tugging with other dogs near by!
Let me know what you think!

    Hi Tracy!
I’m so glad you think you can help me with this start line! It’s a very stressful way to start our run!!
To answer your question, I do 1 or 2 FEO runs every trial she is entered in and we always use a toy as a reward. She goes crazy, she gets so fast and her eyes get all crazy it’s so fun to see!! I had fixed her weaves this way but they are getting iffy again. I have only used the toy as a reward on the start line twice. It feels very clumsy I don’t think I’m doing it quite right.
We played the start line games at SOTC today and also tried one of the short sequences. It was fun watching the video and trying to figure it out because that is a major weakness of mine!

    Hi Tracy!
Maple and I practiced a bunch of the week one games so we can catch up to our classmates. There’s a lot of video I’m sorry I try not to do that. I have a couple questions, one the lazy game she occasionally knocks an 8 inch bar. Should I worry?
And everything went really well til that one step send and she started jumping over and on top of the tunnel lololol not sure why that was going on! I am starting to dial back all the appendages on her tug toy from when she was little and I think she isn’t as sure she loves it. Let me know what you think!

    Hi Tracy!
Winn and I were up at camp and then had a 3 day trial at SOTC. She made very clear to me what our weak points are in trial settings and I was hoping we could work through these with the CAMP games. First and probably most important, start line. She sneezes and stresses herself even though I don’t leave her for even a little bit of lead out anymore which leads to a lot of discombobulations for me trying to get where I’m going. Second, her poles. If she is feeling any pressure, poles get popped. And last our table has become very sneezeful and often avoided. So I figured a good place to start was the two transition to trial games?

    Hi Tracy!
So I got an opportunity to practice standard course 2 and 3 on Saturday. I used the ready treat at the end of the weaves but I do think I was asking too much. I like your idea to go back and make things simpler. She was showing either stress or fatigue or maybe both trying to sort these out I think. She has a lot of confidence if I run ahead of her in the weaves but lateral is tricky. Let me know what you think!

    Hi Tracy!
Thanks for your feedback! I couldn’t figure out why she struggled with the tunnel one so much til I watched the video after your comments!
Yes she has a very hard time on the start line so we will be playing all those games alongside Mae!
We did the sequences the other day. She really really struggles with the weaves in trials. We have been doing tons of FEO which has helped so much but I see all her hesitation returning when I do these. Let me know what you think!

    Hi Tracy!
We started the skill sets today. I’m not sure if Winn had an off day or she really struggles with these skills but it was hard! There were many more misses then are on the video clip. Should I make something easier?? I didn’t know if I should move the wing up or move myself forward to help her. Weird thing is she has consistently been missing the table in trials but that was her most independent obstacle today of the three I tried!

She and Maple both played the ring ready games and thought those were great fun!

    Hi Tracy!
I snuck in a few minutes practice of the lateral lead outs today. I’m trying to increase enthusiasm and tugging too a little bit. It’s weird because the first video she did really pretty decent but we struggled the second video. I don’t know if I went too long ? It was only about 6 minutes total. Or was I doing something else wrong maybe?

    Hi Tracy!
I actually handed in my resignation a couple weeks ago so this summer will be extra fun! I hoped to work a few more years but just can’t do it anymore.

Thank you for the suggestion to go closer to the wing. I kept getting to the jump ahead of her and this will definitely help that. I’d like her to drive a bit more then she does.
I LOVE your idea to just grab a couple minutes to play with her at a time! We ran out in the backyard Nd tried the SERP proofing today. It seemed to go pretty well!

    Hi Tracy!
Ugh I hate getting so far behind in class work!! It stresses me out!! My work schedule has doubled because of COVID and I’m not keeping up well! Almost summer! Anyway, I still trying to work through the games in sequential order so I tried some serp practice and wind in your hair. Let me know what you think!

    Hi Tracy!
Today we practiced the set point again and I think it went much better with the changes you recommended. We also practiced the SERP game and the wind in her hair game. I feel like the SERP game was a mess. The clip I included looks ok, but it took us awhile to get to it and what’s even worse is I was getting frustrated with both of us. I didn’t even include the front cross clip because she kept coming in then going back out behind me to kinda SERP it and I got even more frustrated which I didn’t mean to.
The last one was the wind in her hair one and I think that went pretty well, though she doesn’t really drive past me, she goes past me.
Let me know what you think.

    Hi Tracy!
Maple and I headed over to the barn to work on the week one games today. There’s a couple things I wanted to ask, mainly about the set point. I don’t think she is spacing herself right but I’m not sure. I also don’t know if it’s because she just isn’t that excited or I’m doing something wrong. I did try moving the jumps closer. I videoed 2 different tries. My other question was about working with her toy out. During the smiley face game she had a hard time keeping it together when her toy was out so I ended up tucking it in my sweatshirt so she could focus a little. Was that the right call? She had made a handful of mistakes when the toy was out but did great when I just used it as a reward.
Let me know what you think!

    Hi Tracy!
So yesterday Mae and I worked on some perch work and the beginning retrieve. I think she definitely has a stronger side on her perch work. Left seemed to get much easier movement. Not sure that I did the retrieve game correctly but she was happy to interact with it.
    Thanks!

    Hi Tracy!
We took the rocking horse game to sotc today. I also spread the wings further apart. I think she was a little hesitant maybe? There was another dog working in the ring at the same time though so I was super proud of her for working with me through all the other fun things going on. Let me know what you think!
    Thanks (:
